Foundation Surgical Hospital of San Antonio Promotional

While at Foundation we produced this promotional video for our San Antonio hospital. This three day shoot took a lot of coordinating locations and talent, which Rich Jamison orchestrated nicely. I ran camera and utilized a jib arm which really added to the production quality. I created the graphical elements in Motion. 

The Flatts

This is a VERY short film demonstrating hope and joyfulness amidst a bleak and hopeless situation. The film is something I actually repurposed from another project that never materialized shot downtown in an area know as the Flatts. You might recognize a couple of the actors. I intertwined some film footage I shot when Marley was just a toddler to try and tell a story, though a very quick story, of a family living life through adversity. 

CookWise Show Opener

This is one my favorite pieces that I've created. This is an opener for a cooking show that we use to produce at Foundation. The footage was taken from the first three episodes we shot. Chef David Fouts had lost a lot of weight through bariatric surgery and began to focus on teaching people how to prepare nutritious yet appetizing food. The second clip is something I produced as a background for the credits at the end of the show. Edited in Final Cut, effects in Motion.

San Antonio Hospital Grand Opening

This is a montage I shot and edited of a hospital grand opening in San Antonio. It was quite the social event. They had several groups playing live music, lots and lots of really good looking food that I snuck a few bites of, and even a horse-drawn carriage, watch your step!

Green Eyes Film

This is one of my favorite films. It stars my most favorite people. I never get tired of it. The footage at the beginning is actually several years old, pre-kids in fact. You get 100 points if you can guess our scenic location. I found this while sorting through some of my video stuff, and had never gotten it developed, quite a little treasure. The second half is newer footage, Jonas is about 3 months old. I make a very brief appearance at the very end as the film flickers out. The song is Green Eyes by Coldplay, one of my faves.

Amber England: The Outer Limits of Weight Loss and Weight Gain

This is a 3-part series I shot and edited about Amber England who had lost over 100 pounds and was featured on Jillian Michaels' (the buff girl on The Biggest Loser TV show) website. She came into WeightWise for some VO2 and RMR testing to try and lose the last few pounds of her goal weight. The VO2 is a test that determines your target heart rate for maximum fat burning and the RMR is your resting metabolic rate.

Drop Those Pounds - Michelle

This was an event for WeightWise of San Antonio where patients commemorated and celebrated their weight loss by dropping the equivalent amount of weight off of an elevated lift. Very symbolic and emotional experience for the participants.

I created the Drop Those Pounds logo in Photoshop. I did the opening graphic of the falling logo with a combination of Strata 3D CX and Apple Motion. The animated logo at the end was created in Motion also. Edited in multicam mode in FCP, lower third graphics in Motion.

Rocky & Leslee Wedding Film

I had the pleasure of capturing these priceless memories for our good friends Rocky and Leslee, which was a challenge since Abbie and I were actually in the wedding. But, it was a lot of fun. I love how the red fruit punch just pops.

"This City is Going on a Diet!"

We had Mayor Cornett come into Foundation where we set up and lit a green screen large enough for him to "walk" onto the screen. This video was originally shot as an overlay for www.okcmillion.com and is still in use there. I took that same video with alpha channel into Apple Motion and added all of the background graphics, music, etc. The mayor is a former news anchor and a real pro on camera, just hit record and let him go to work. Great talent in front of the camera makes my job much easier behind the camera.

Upside Down

I thought I would shoot off a roll of film on our last zoo adventure. It was lots of fun to watch the kids' faces and see their excitement and curiosity. As you can see at the end, they weren't exactly ready to leave.

As a creative professional, a goal is being able to share my finished creations with others. I hope to use this blog as an outlet to share my work, which I would like to consider a blend of creativity and technical skill, and finds it's being through various outlets.
